Things are looking up

Hi everyone! I've spent time on my other blog and realized I was slowly letting this one go into the ground. So for an update!! My last post was about work, luckily things have definitely gotten better and I was given some great advice on how to deal with things of that nature. I'm slowly learning how to take some things with a grain of salt and not get so worked up. It takes time and sometimes meditation, but it's totally worth it in the end because I'm not taking it out on my husband later. We have a fun plan in place for the next year or so! We've been looking into buying some land in South-eastern Colorado and I couldn't be more excited. Though I've been raised a city girl my whole life, I am just so at peace in the country with the quiet. We're looking at about 35-40 acres, just to have space and eventually plant gardens, orchards, even raise some chickens and a pig or two help sustain our family. We've been very passionate about responsibly raised food and lately with all the food safety scares and documentaries about what is really going on with our food supply is something that we are very concerned about moving into the future as we start to raise a family.

I'm interviewing for a possible promotion today and I think I'm as ready as I possibly can be. I hope it all goes  well because I think it will present a good challenge for myself and I think I can be very successful. Only time will tell! I feel like it's a win-win for me though: I love the team I'm on now, so if I don't get it I get to stay with them through the next year, and if I do get it it is a promotion with better pay and closer to our house! So I'm feeling very positive, though still nervous because I absolutely dread interviews! So here's to the gods and goddesses watching over me today! Help me stay calm!

Hope all of you are having a Happy Halloween!!!!

That kind of day

It almost feels like it's a bad monday and my week is starting all over again. I already need another vacation from work and I've only been back about a month. I'm frustrated with the people around me, thought I love the company I work for. I recently got feedback of my job performance, and while mostly positive there were a few negative comments. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect and absolutely take feedback well and work to improve on any weaknesses....I'm not by any means perfect that's for sure. But one or two of those negative comments felt like a personal hit on me and my personality. Some one went as far as to say that they didn't think I was capable of 'appreciating' someone. That one cut me like a knife, because it is probably the most opposite of what I try and do at work. I appreciate everyone I work with and thank them for their hard work everyday, even if it isn't up to what I would consider hard work. I was in tears last night and woke up this morning sick to my stomach to go into work. I just don't even know how to act anymore. My lovely husband says that I need to take it with a grain of salt and to look at the rest of the feedback. My bosses are obviously happy so do I let someone who works under me, ruin my heart like that and break me down like I haven't been broken down in a long time? I'm not sure where to go from here, I just know that I don't know how much more my heart/head/feelings can take. I think it's time to explore other options of employment....

Here's to hoping the rest of my day gets better and not letting negative or hurtful things attack me.

Update: Happy!!

Hi readers!

Well, I've started a second blog, so this one will be dedicated to my life as a wife, and mom to my puppies and our adventures life takes us on. This past weekend my husband's sister just got married! Her new husband is one of our good friends and co-workers and we couldn't be more happy for them. It was a beautiful weekend of family, friends and love and I was so excited to be a part of it as one of my sister in law's bridesmaids. It was a really neat experience to get to have my own wedding a month ago, and then get a different view as a bridesmaid. Let me tell you, it was way more enjoyable as a bridesmaid, but definitely just as tiring!!

Congratulations to Zach and Erin, we wish you the most love and happiness this world has to offer you two. Remember that you will always have each other and that more than anything, will get you through life's toughest situations.

Next up on the list! A friends wedding to attend on October 1st! It's down in Southern Colorado, so I'm sure I will have some beautiful pictures to post.
